‘The Chord Of Life — Finding Harmony In A Disharmonic World’

Music is the food of love, they say,
But only if you let it play the righteous way.
Strike the notes that lift the soul,
Let harmony make the broken whole.

For some play chords that darkly cry,
Where truth and light are left to die.
Dear Keir, it seems, has found that key—
The Chord of Death’s grim melody.

Yet we, who dream, refuse that sound,
We crave the chord where hearts are bound.
The Chord of Life, both fierce and sweet,
Where love and rhythm truly meet.

Once, beneath a blazing sky,
On Live Aid’s day, the chords could fly.
Across the earth, one pulse, one song,
The Chord of Life was loud and strong.

The money, fame, the charity’s art,
Were only channels for the heart.
A chance to feel what life could mean,
A glimpse of grace, pure and unseen.

But shadows rose, as shadows do,
The Chord of Death crept softly through.
Their propaganda, cold and sly,
Turned hope to dust before the eye.

Once, beneath a blazing sky,
On Live Aid’s day, the chords could fly.
Across the earth, one pulse, one song,
The Chord of Life was loud and strong.

The Witnesses, their faith was torn,
By whispers wrapped in doubt’s dark thorn.
The moment passed, the music dimmed,
The light of truth grew faint and trimmed.

Now once again we search the sound,
The Lost Chord hidden underground.
Let’s hope we find it, hearts aligned,
Before death’s chord enslaves mankind.

Once, beneath a blazing sky,
On Live Aid’s day, the chords could fly.
Across the earth, one pulse, one song,
The Chord of Life was loud and strong.

Before the song of freedom’s breath
Is silenced by the march of death.
Before we wake in chains, unfurled,
In a red-tinted, dying world.
.
So play, my friends — play pure, – play true,
Let love’s bright resonance – shine through.
For Music is the food of love — Believe!
.
And through the Chord of Life — We’ll never grieve.

They say ‘Music is the Food of Love’  – and I believe that’s true.
But like any nourishment, it depends on what ingredients you choose. In music, as in life, not every chord feeds the soul. Some uplift, heal, and unite us. Others divide, decay, and destroy. It all depends on which chord we choose to play.

Throughout history, there have been moments when humanity came together and struck what I call “The Chord of Life.” It’s that rare vibration of shared purpose — when millions move in unison, hearts open, and compassion becomes contagious. One such moment was the first ‘Live Aid’ concert in 1985. For a single day, music transcended borders and politics. The rhythm of generosity pulsed across the planet. It wasn’t just about money or charity — those were merely the conduits. What really flowed was ‘life energy’: love, hope, and unity expressed through music. For a brief moment, we witnessed what humanity could be when we play in tune with one another.

But as quickly as that chord resonated, it faded…….
In the years that followed, cynicism crept in — the “Chord of Death?” This isn’t about literal death, but a metaphor for the forces that sow division, distrust, and despair. Propaganda, fear, and manipulation drowned out the harmony. Those who once felt something miraculous began to doubt what they’d experienced. The song of life was replaced by noise — discordant, cynical, and cold.

Today, the world once again feels off-key. Many of us sense it — the dissonance, the confusion, the lack of collective rhythm. We are bombarded by voices that profit from fear, ideologies that crush individuality, and systems that trade human warmth for mechanical control. It feels as if the Chord of Death is echoing louder every day, threatening to pull us into a world without melody — a world ruled not by love, but by uniformity and control.

Yet there is hope — because the Chord of Life never truly disappears. It waits in silence, within every heart that still dares to feel. Every act of kindness, every honest song, every shared smile is a note in its symphony. We can find it again, but it takes courage. It requires us to play the ‘right chords’ — empathy, truth, and unity — even when dissonance surrounds us.

Music teaches us an important truth: harmony doesn’t mean sameness. It’s about different notes resonating together, creating something greater than the sum of their parts. Humanity, too, can find its harmony again. But we must choose it — consciously, bravely, passionately.

So let us pick up our instruments — literal or metaphorical — and play ‘The Chord of Life!’ once more. Let’s drown out the noise of fear with the sound of compassion. Because when we do, we rediscover what Live Aid briefly revealed: that the meaning of life isn’t found in power or ideology — it’s found in ‘connection’.

And if music truly is the food of love, then love is the song that saves us all.
